Help Animals
From shelter dog profiles to lost and found resources to pet care services and dog book recommendations. This is a place for animal lovers in Louisville to learn, connect, and help.

Hi, I'm Alyssa!
I became an animal lover long before I ever walked one.
As a kid, I was obsessed with animal books. Wildlife guides, library stacks, hours spent dreaming about creatures I'd probably never meet. That wonder never went away.
Then I lost my cat. I put up flyers, knocked on doors, and searched everywhere. It took a community effort to bring him home. It's a big reason this site exists.
I volunteer at shelters writing profiles for the dogs there. What gives them zoomies, what kind of home fits them best, and whether they'll jump straight into the car or need someone patient and quiet.
The lost and found board is here because resources for missing pets shouldn't be scattered across six different Facebook groups.
A little knowledge, some passion, and a community can completely change how we show up for the animals in our lives. That's what I'm here for, and I'm glad you're here too. Let's learn together!
Positive reinforcement only, because it works better, and it's kinder.
Even if you have a backyard, dogs need to explore the world through their nose.
I volunteer weekly, and I spotlight shelter dogs on my blog.
What I Offer
Because it really does take a village.
Dog Walking
Neighborhood walks with plenty of sniff time. All sizes welcome, from tiny pups to gentle giants.
Drop-In Visits
In-home visits for dogs who just need a potty break, play session, or some company while you're out.
Cat Visits
Feeding, litter box, playtime, and cuddles (if they're into that). Kitten care available too!
Puppy Care
Potty breaks, socialization, and play for your youngest family member. Same rates as dog walking.
Medication & Special Care
Oral medication, insulin shots, senior care. I follow your vet's guidance to the letter.
Walk Updates
Photos and a quick recap after every walk or visit, so you always know your pet is happy and safe.
Shelter Dog Field Trips
Same love, different dogs. These profiles aren't adoption pitches. They're portraits, so the right person can recognize their dog when they see them.
